This TinyShield is based around the Bluegiga BLE112 module and lets you connect your projects using Bluetooth 4 Low Energy (also known as Bluetooth Smart), which is supported on newer phones (like the iPhone 4s, and 5). This technology is great for low power sensors and accessories.

Includes power supply and level shifters on the board, so you can run your TinyDuino from 3.3V – 5V.

Use GPS positioning with your TinyDuino! This TinyShield is based on the Telit JF2 GPS Module, which is uses the popular SiRFstar IV chipset. This module is configured by default to output GPS strings in the NMEA format at a 1Hz update rate (this can be changed to a 5HZ updated with a NMEA command).

This TinyShield includes an integrated GPS antenna on the board itself (no external antenna is needed), to keep the size as small as possible. This TinyShield also inclues level shifters and a local power supply to ensure proper and safe operation over the entire TinyDuino operating voltage range up to 5V.

A set of 0.1" headers suitable for use with Proto Board 2 and Proto Board 3, allows quick connections to user circuits using Breadboard jumpers.

This board makes prototyping with the TinyDuino simple by adding screw terminals to every one of the signals available so you can create projects without having to solder. Just place a wire into the signal that you need and screw it down with a small screwdriver.

All of the shield signals are supported and are spaced with 0.1″ spacing, and placed along the edge of the board which extends past the normal edge of the TinyDuino stack. This makes connecting to any of the shield signals very easy, and additional TinyShields can be stacked on top of this proto board, so it can be placed anywhere in the TinyDuino stack for your project.

This TinyShield features the high performance and low power Honeywell HMC5883L 3-axis compass. The HMC5883L includes state-of-the-art, high-resolution HMC118X series magneto-resistive sensors plus an ASIC containing amplification, automatic degaussing strap drivers, offset cancellation, and a 12-bit ADC that enables 1° to 2° compass heading accuracy.

The Compass TinyShield incorporates level shifters and a local power supply to ensure proper and safe operation over the entire TinyDuino operating voltage range between 3 – 5V.

This TinyShield features a TAOS TSL2572 Ambient Light Sensor, that approximates human eye response to light intensity under a variety of lighting conditions and through a variety of attenuation materials. Accurate ALS measurements are the result of TAOS’ patented dual-diode technology and the UV rejection filter incorporated in the package. In addition, the operating range is extended to 60,000 lux in sunlight when the low-gain mode is used.

The TinyShield Matrix LED Boards is a 6 x 9 grid of LEDs (54 total LEDs) that are individually addressable, which lets you scroll text, draw images and all sorts of other things. This TinyShield is compatible with the popular Arduino LoL Shield Library (Lots of LEDs Shield) created by Jimmie Rodgers.

The LEDs are arranged using Charlieplexing, which is a technique to allow for control of multiple LEDs using fewer I/O signals. Available with Red, Green and Amber LED color options.

The TinyShield 7 Segment Display Board contains two seven segment LEDs (Red LEDs) that can be set over the I2C (thus saving signals to do other tasks) by using an Semtech SX1506 I/O expander. Each of the segments, including the decimal indicator can be individually selected, and an easy to use library is provided to make it extremely easy to use.

The TinyShield Circle Edge LED Boards allows some cool and easy LED indications using only six I/O signals. This board includes 21 LEDs are mounted around the outside of the board to form a full circle and is designed to be placed on the top of the TinyShield stackup. The LEDs are arranged using Charlieplexing, which is a technique to allow for control of multiple LEDs using fewer I/O signals. Available with Red, Green and Amber LED color options.
