Pixie 14 is a PIC based microcontroller board for 14 pin PICAXE or Genie chips, it creates a simple mainboard for 14 pin projects The mainboard has 2 Pixie ports, the ports are arranged in an 'Arduino-like' format to match  a connector that allows other Pixie boards called Dots to be attached OR HOT  (Hardware On Top) format modules OR student designed PCBs for the developement of projects . The Pixie 14 gives a readily usable system for KS3 Programmable Components, For schools it provides a re-useable base unit that can be used with many students, many times with many different student projects and solutions.

Pixie HOT  modules are similar in format to the shields used in the Arduino system, which slot on top to extend the Pixie system.

The Pixie RGB dot is a small module with a Piranha RGB LED, which is a very bright LED unit, with a connection for the addition of either an LDR or Thermistor for environmental sensing. The RGB dot is great for the creation of Mood lights or other related lighting projects in conjunction with the Pixie 8 and Pixie 14 mainboards, using the 8 pin Pixie Port . The kit contains a PCB (25mm x 20mm) and all parts.

The Pixie RGBm is an all-in-one Programmable Lighting Module, it uses a 10mm diffuse RGB LED for maximum light mixing and spread, microcontroller and download connection via a 3.5mm stereo socket. The Pixie RGBm uses either a PICAXE 08M2 or Genie 8 microcontroller.

It also has provision for sensing via LDR or Thermistor and chip based temerature sensing using the LM35DZ or TMP36 devices - we can supply these devices if needed via the product selector.

The Robotic Hot is an input and motor board for Pixie 14 via 2 Pixie Ports in an 'Arduino' shield format. The board provides 2 bidirectional motor outputs via an L293D driver and 5 inputs with pull-down resistors for ease of connection of switches etc, 2 inputs are also available as analogue ports. The board takes a 5V 1A voltage regulator to supply both the Robotic Hot and Pixie 14, the on-board motor driver can select to use either 5V or +V voltages for the motors if needed via a simple link.

The Pixie Proto Hot is a prototyping board that fits the Pixie 14 via 2 Pixie Ports in an 'Arduino' shield format. The board provides a prototyping area of  12 x 8 grid of holes and a row of holes for +V, 5V and 0V. The board also has a 5V 100mA regulator, it can also take a 1A version if required. Each Pixie Port can be used with Pixie RGB dots.

The kit contains a PCB (44mm x 44mm) and all parts.

The Pixie Pad is an ideal starter for Programmable Components and eTextiles, using a PICAXE microcontroller.

The board provides 4 outputs, 1 input, other configurations can be obtained via software, and a 3.5mm download socket. You can connect to the board using crocodile clips, conductive thread or by soldering.

The board is small enough to build into a whole range of products and projects. It provides a very quick and easy solution for work at KS3 for Programmable Components, eTextiles and for quick prototyping of ideas at KS4/GCSE.

This Pixie Dot board provides 3 servo motor connections, 2 inputs and an external 6V power connection, which will power the Dot and an 8 or 14 pin Pixie mainboard via a JST PH connector, we can supply the mating connector complete with a PP3 bat snap if required.

The servo connections take the standard servo 3 pin connector; each one also has a current limiting resistor. The connections can easily be re-tasked if you don't need 3 servos for LEDs for example.

The 2 inputs both have pull down resistors to enable easily use of switches of any type. Just connect switches and of you go. The right input can also be used to provide an analogue input if required from say an LDR or thermistor.

The Pixie Dot can be used to create robot buggies using 360 rotation serv, robot arms using standard 180 rotation servos or an animatronic projects in conjunction with the Pixie 8 and Pixie 14 mainboards, using the 8 pin Pixie Port. IIf you require more sensors and sound take a look at Pixie Animatronic Dot board which provides for LEDs, a servo, PIR input and digital/analogue inputs.
