Here at RnD Motorsport we are hugely proud of our custom built in house Dyno cell. Flowing over 30,000 cubic feet of fresh air per minute, we can handle the heat generated by very large amounts of power, and keep temperatures consistent run to run. As the cell is constructed from sound proof panels, and has a huge soundproof door, we can operate day or night, without annoying the neighbours!
Our 4wd rolling road can reliably hold back over 500hp per axle for as long as your engine will last, and can sweep test even larger amounts, so long as we can maintain traction. We have a separate exhaust gas extraction system with multiple extraction points on top of the main ventilation, to ensure that the engine never again sees that already burned gas. We also have multiple portable air movers to help concentrate cooling air in the places that matter to specific setups.
The dyno itself features an air lift system which makes it ideal for most lowered cars. The live, in cell weather station constantly updates the dyno's correction factor, which keeps everything consistent and to international correction specs for each run. The wheelbase length is electronically adjustable, and is suitable for FWD, RWD or 4WD vehicles.
Whilst monitoring the various sensors on the dyno itself, and measuring the amount of energy produced, the dyno computer can also datalog various other sensors, and even monitor your cars own sensors through the diagnostic port. We have the ability to turn the entire extraction on and off from within the car, and operate the dyno remotely, meaning we don't have to leave the drivers seat to make changes to your tune or the dyno itself. This means more time spent tuning for you.
We also have an emergency stop system, with large easily seen buttons at various locations in the cell, including the control pendant that we have in the car. The E-stop system will bring the wheels to a halt in a matter of seconds from full speed using the same electronic braking system that the dyno uses for load control. We have fire extinguishers on hand, eye wash stations and first aid kits close by, should anything untoward happen. Whilst we have never yet had to use them (touch wood!) we are big believers in planning for the worst.
Currently, we mainly specialise in tuning the Bosch Motronic System fitted to Vauxhall Astra 2.0 turbo variants and the Corsa 1.6 Turbo. We will entertain most things though, whether a Standalone ECU or other OEM ECU's on many cars, so please do get in touch to discuss your requirements with us.
