The Svetlana 6550C is a high frequency beam power tetrode intended for ultra linear audio frequency power amplification service. The 6550C has the following features: Increased peak cathode emission from new cathode materials. Stable operation from extended processing and ageing.

Gold-plated grid. New tri-plate anode.
Single-piece beam forming electrode.

The Golden Dragon KT66 Retro combines the same shape and style of the original GEC and M-O valve designs with modern materials and manufacturing techniques.

These audio tubes are of unsurpassed quality and reliability. Manufactured using the finest materials, these tubes not only look the part in vintage and modern amplifiers but will perform at least as well (if not better) than the original designs from GEC or M-O in all important areas, and can be expected to last at least as long as the originals. The tubes measured electrical performance matches the original GEC and M-O data exactly, and are branded in the style of the originals.

The Golden Dragon KT88 Retro is produced to a similar shape to the original GEC/MO design, and has identical operating characteristics.

The GEC KT88 was a higher power version of the original KT66. Developed in the heyday of push-pull working its relatively high output makes it ideal for driving difficult loads of current-hungry speakers. Although it can be used in single-ended circuitry, it's more common usage is as a push-pull pair where it's low screen current properties give it high power efficiency. The Golden Dragon KT88 Retro sets the standard for others to meet . It's range of applications is wide and it is commonly found to sound superior to other KT88s at a highly competitive price.
